Our mission statement sums up our philosophy quite well:
We at Learn 2 Learn use a combination of scientifically backed medical, nutritional and behavioural therapies applied with a completely human approach in order to provide a supportive environment for our patients to find balance in their lives. We want to do everything possible to empower each individual patient to learn new skills in order to restore health and take control of their life.
Our Major Focus
At Learn 2 Learn we help patients who might be children or adolescents. While any long-term goals are always to have your children eat like they should at their age, this process could take a couple of years or even longer. The length of time will probably depend on your child's motivation to develop good chewing and eating skills, but we always strive to reach a proper eating level for their age group.
We aim to aid patients restore their energy and exercise balance while building skills in order for them to increase their well being.
A staff that is as every bit as experienced, as they are compassionate accomplishes all of this. We offer behavioural therapy techniques. We focus on helping patients to improve their eating habits while reducing the problem behaviours that feed into these kinds of disorders. We fully recognize that many patients have difficulties when it comes to adjusting to change and many struggle with accepting a natural body shape and weight level.
Accepting a healthy body weight can be difficult, which is why these are primary focus areas in both medical as well as behavioural therapy techniques.
Nutrition and Fitness
Meal therapy techniques are focused on weight and nutritional restoration. Focusing on using the best meal therapy techniques available and tailoring each diet to each patient is a major part of our philosophy.
Still, it's important to note that a number of medical therapy techniques will never be a replacement for a real wholesome philosophy, and we are geared toward helping people while treating them truly as people and not merely patients.
